Always Knocking

Faith is evolutionary; it is always changing and growing. A static faith is a dead faith. My faith moves forward, and then slips back. It is never steady. The forward movement of faith embraces the divine traits of mercy and forgiveness. When I become petty and unloving, my faith has stumbled and fallen backward a bit. This is normal…even for saints. God is always knocking. Some days we hear and respond. Some days we ignore or pretend not hear the knocking. The point of faith, on our good days and on our bad days, is to strive to move forward…despite our doubts and sinfulness.
