Doing Nothing

A Zen poem says:

Sitting quietly, doing nothing
Spring comes, and the grass grows by itself.

Most of us think that not much happens on its own, that movement of any kind requires a push from us. I know I have a tendency to think I need to make things happen. Yet, in retrospect, I see all the best things in my life sprang from unplanned moments, when something wonderful happened by itself. All that was required of me was seeing it.
