Off to Peru

Shorty after midnight on August 17th, I will be flying to Lima, Peru and then onto Chaclacayo, Peru, where I will be spending with Dr. Tony Lazzara, a Secular Franciscan from Florida who cares for some fifty seriously ill children, as well as running a free clinic of the poor children of the area. Dr. Tony was featured in my 2004 film, The Patients of a Saint. I will return to Los Angeles on August 24th. I hope to do some filming in the shanty towns of the foothills of the Andes, as well as in the slums of Lima.

May Jesus and your brother Francis protect you and may you return refreshed and ready for a new challenge.

Gerry: Thanks for going there. I have been there in Peru as well many times and seen the dire poverty as well. God bless you in your work. I am still struggling to get the orthopedic training program back on track. Sincerely. Kaye Wilkins
