Returning to Haiti

In 24 hours, on Saturday night at 9:20pm, I will be catching a flight to Miami arriving at 5am for a connecting flight to Port-au-Prince, arriving in Haiti at 9:45 Sunday morning. This will be my seventh trip to Haiti since just before the earthquake. Once again I will be living in the Girardo-ville slum, living without running water or electricity. This will be a short trip and I will return to Los Angeles on March 10th in order to prepare for a speaking engagement the following week at Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia. A week later, I will be at Villa Maria College in Buffalo.

So for at least the next two weeks, this blog will not have any new postings…although I might post one more reflection on Saturday before I leave, if time permits.

Haiti is the perfect place to begin the Lenten journey.

Peace and blessings,

Gerry
